LEGO Launches Its Most Sustainable Factory in Vietnam to Power Asia-Pacific Growth

The LEGO Group has inaugurated its most environmentally advanced manufacturing site to date in Binh Duong, Vietnam—marking a pivotal step in its Asia-Pacific expansion strategy. The facility is designed to operate on 100% renewable energy by 2026, supported by 12,400 rooftop solar panels and the country’s first large-scale battery storage system, developed in partnership with Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP).

This sixth LEGO factory globally sets new benchmarks in environmental standards, being the first to achieve LEED Platinum certification for its administration and play buildings. It’s also the only LEGO site to fully switch to paper-based pre-pack bags, further reducing its environmental footprint.

Alongside its production ambitions, LEGO is investing in local communities. Through educational play programs with partners like Save the Children and the National Centre for Special Education, LEGO expects to reach more than 60,000 Vietnamese children by the end of 2025.

The company is also enhancing regional supply chain resilience with a new distribution center in Dong Nai province, managed by Kuehne+Nagel, which will support increased demand across Asia.

“This state-of-the-art site reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and innovation, bringing more LEGO play experiences to children and our fans in the Asia-Pacific region,” said CEO Niels B. Christiansen.

The factory’s inclusive and future-ready workforce design includes training from over 100 global trainers and features inclusive facilities such as play zones, prayer rooms, and green workspaces—positioning the site as a blueprint for LEGO’s global Future Factory Workplace model.
